Limit Keeper

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 26, 2026. Applies to the Limit Keeper iPhone app and to this website.

Short version

The app

What the app does with data. Limit Keeper reads your location while you use it, and in the background when you allow that, to compare it with a list of camera locations that is stored inside the app. This comparison happens on your device. The app has no server and does not transmit your location, your drive history or any identifier to us.

Camera status download. About once a day, while the app is open or running in the background, the app downloads the public status list of the LADOT camera layer (which zones are in the warning period and which are still under construction). The request is a plain read-only web request (HTTP GET) to the City's public ArcGIS service at services.arcgis.com. It contains no location, no account, no device or advertising identifier and no custom headers; it asks only for the camera ID and status fields. As with any web request, iOS and the server operator (Esri, which hosts the City's service) can see your device's IP address. We do not receive that request, run no server for it and collect nothing from it. The app stores only the downloaded status list and the time on your device. If the download fails, the app keeps the last list it has.

Drive log. The app can keep a log of your drives (for example when an alert played and the zone it was for). The log stays on your device. It leaves the device only if you choose to export it with the iOS share sheet, and then it goes where you send it. Deleting the app deletes the log.

Settings. Your choices (language, alert style and similar) are stored on your device.

Apple services. The map in the app is drawn by Apple Maps (MapKit), which loads map tiles from Apple. Apple's own privacy policy applies to that. Links inside the app (for example to the official sources of the rules) open in your browser and are then governed by the site you open. Purchases and downloads are handled by Apple.

Permissions. The app asks for location (while using the app, and optionally "Always" so alerts work while you use other apps or the screen is locked) and for notifications. You can change both at any time in iOS Settings.

Children. The app is not directed to children and collects nothing from anyone.

The website and waitlist

What we collect. If you join the waitlist we store three things: your email address, the language of the page you used (en, es or ru), and the date and time you signed up. We use them only to tell you when the app is available. We do not sell or share them and we do not use them for advertising.

What we do not store. We do not store your IP address, browser details or any tracking identifier with your record. To limit abuse the form counts attempts per visitor using a one-way hash of your IP address that expires within two hours; the IP address itself is never saved by us. The site has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers, scripts or fonts.

Where it is stored. Waitlist records are kept in Cloudflare Workers KV. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes network requests as our hosting provider and may keep its own technical logs under its own privacy policy.

Unsubscribe and deletion. We send no marketing email to anyone who has not asked for it, and every message we send will say how to stop. To be removed from the waitlist, or to ask what is stored about you, email support@limitkeeper.com from the address in question and we will delete the record. We aim to do this within 30 days. You can use the same address to correct an email address.

Retention. Waitlist records are kept until the app launches and the launch email is sent, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
